Who is the Honorary Brown Butter Girl?
This induction is both an honor and a call to action. We celebrate your journey as a woman of color in academia—your triumphs, resilience, and unwavering spirit—knowing that your story will inspire the next generation. Our Brown Butter Scholars are brilliant, ambitious, and ready to embrace their full potential, and we believe you will be a powerful source of encouragement for them.
For decades, majority culture members have leveraged exclusive networks, pooled resources, and generational influence to advance their goals. The Brown Butter Collective is committed to granting those same advantages to our scholars by connecting them with extraordinary women like you.
Our scholars - Brown Butter Collective serves Grades 2-12- are coming of age in an unprecedented time—one filled with both challenges and new opportunities. Your leadership, visibility, and accomplishments have paved the way for the future trailblazers we are proud to uplift and support.
We invite you to share your journey and wisdom with our scholars at The Brown Butter Collective on May 3 or May 17. Step into the spotlight and help shape the next generation of changemakers.
What to Expect

All inductees are invited to join us on either May 3, 2025 or May 17, 2025 to be honored and recognized at the Welcome Ceremony for our Black-identifying female scholars, their caregivers, and their schools.
Attend the Honorary Brown Butter Girl Matriculation Ceremony where you will be given your
Honorary Brown Butter Alumna Certificate and may give a brief acceptance speech.
Collect your Brown Butter Collective Hoodie
Attend The Brown Butter Luncheon with current Brown Butter Scholars, school administrators, and caregivers as Guests of Honor
You are also welcome to participate in the remainder of the Brown Butter Collective! Revisit your own brilliant girlhood, rest, play and reflect, all while empowering the next generation.

The Brown Butter Collective is more than a retreat; it’s a sanctuary where Black girl scholars can take up space, feel seen, and explore what it means to thrive in every aspect of their lives—emotional, physical, cultural, and academic. The girls also participate in personal development insight circles, where they can openly discuss their individual and collective experiences in a rejuvenating setting
